Right in time for Independence Day, I have a new release in my Holidays in Lake Point series. Free Falling is the 10th installment in the series which revolves around a small town much like the one I live in. While this series started as just one book, it has blossomed into so much more. Each story brings another rich character and love story to the wonderful little town of Lake Point.
This installment brings us Logan Bennett, a single dad whose sole focus is his beautiful daughter, Sheridan. We also meet the stunning Ryan Detrick, who is a master furniture builder with a set plan for her life – one that doesn’t include kids.
When these two meet the fireworks were so much fun to deal with – and the fallout from an innocent mistake led to quite a fun walk of shame indeed.
So please come meet some more residents of Lake Point and see how their story turns out!

Blurb:
Ryan Detrick thrives on the control she has over her life. Her career and business are on track, as is her love life – which isn’t much of one. After someone took away her control years ago, she swore she’d never lose it again. When she goes out on the town with her friend in hopes of another one night stand, she hones in on the hot new guy at the bar.
Logan Bennett gave up a life full of bad decisions the moment he learned he was going to be a dad. Years of self-control have put him in a good, if lonely place. His best friend drags him out to loosen him up. Ryan’s bold approach throws him off-guard. When he takes her up on a one night stand, both of their best laid plans get thrown on their head when his daughter arrives home early.
Will they choose love? Or will fear of losing control send them running the other way?

They are lands of make believe.
Characters that I have created.
Flawed.
Wounded.
Imperfect.
Characters.
Terrible things happen to them, just as terrible things happen in real life. In writing it’s often worse, although you know what is said…
Truth is always strange, stranger than fiction.
The difference is.
In those worlds.
Where chaos reigns.
Where characters are deeply flawed.
I am in control.
Without question, I know there will be resolution.
A happy ever after in my lighter works.
An eerie end in my horrors.
I know the resolution.
Real life – it’s messy and I don’t have all the answers.
So I write to create worlds where I do.

There were so many things I could have done for C.
Cystic Fibrosis, Colors, Cannonball, Canada…
But I chose [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks[/amazon_link].
Of course I’m a little biased. Changing Tracks is my first published novel. It’s the first in a series, and the characters just make me giddy with happiness on a regular basis.
It was another check off the bucket list when this one came out on February 8th.
I’ve been blessed to have friends read it (and communicate back to me their thoughts WHILE reading, which was hilariously fun)…and strangers alike.
In several months the next book in the series will be out, and I’ll get to keep telling Jane Doe’s story…all while continuing to find new characters and stories to write in the background.
I’ve got a great job…and Changing Tracks helped make it officially a job. 🙂
Blurb:
There’s nothing simple about forgetting your past.
Cole Mitchell runs the busiest saloon and brothel in Dominion Falls. He keeps his women at a distance, unwilling to relive a past he worked hard to forget.
Until the night Jane Doe falls into his saloon bleeding and near death. She wakes with no memory, only the firm belief someone tried to kill her. In the strange world of amnesia she manages to find solace in Cole’s arms and he finds home in hers.
While they work together to solve the mystery of her appearance, their pasts – her lack of, and his buried – build a barrier between them.
To make matters worse, Jane’s past isn’t willing to let her go. A stranger proves he’ll kill to keep his secrets safe. With those she loves in danger, Jane’s errant memory is all that stands between them and death. Cole can only do so much to protect her, will it be enough?

I’ve been hit by a truck…did anyone get the license number?
Okay, not really, but it sure feels like it.
Last month, [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks[/amazon_link] released.
Last week [amazon_link id=”1938397495″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]HerStory[/amazon_link] with my short story An Uncivil War within it released.
I got new contracts in the past couple of months.
I’ve started new stories.
I have spent the past month writing dozens of blog posts – for other blogs. The writing side of my blog has taken off with dozens of guest authors and book releases and the writing meme’s I participate in.
In some ways I feel like I’ve been surgically attached to my computer.
Therefore not living.
Therefore having little to write about.
Yet so much to write about.
Like my Straight A Student.
My advanced reader.
My blossoming introvert.
But when I sit down to write it, I find myself just enjoying a moment of peace.
Soon the whirlwind will ease up for a little while. Edits for Masked Hearts are done. It doesn’t release until at least mid-April (I think). I’m almost done with the blog tour for Changing Tracks, and won’t be spending hours writing posts for others.
I’ve missed this blog and feel guilty every day I don’t post. Hopefully soon I’ll be bustling with posts again…and will pre-write as many as I can for the next book-tour rush so I don’t neglect this one so much.
And now that the weather shows signs of turning – I might just be more apt to go outside for a while. You know, remember how to have a life again.

In recent months my brain has returned & I’ve figured out how to separate my blogs. All of my writing posts can still be accessed by clicking Sarah’s StoryLines up in my top menu bar…or by clicking one of those links over on the right —>
I did this for several reasons, namely because I wanted to be able to host authors without overwhelming this blog – and because I felt the meshing of the blogs didn’t go very well (as I suspected it might not).
BUT, by doing this – I’ve also been lacking in telling the latest news to all of you, unless you happen to follow my Facebook Fan Page for my writing (another one for my series coming soon).
So – now you get my news.
My debut novel, [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks[/amazon_link], the first in a series, just got published on Friday! It’s a Historical Western Romance set in the Colorado Territory in 1871.

I’m very proud of this novel, as I’ve worked on it and the next two in the series for a few years now. I knew that these were the books I wanted published first. I love the characters, and hope that you will too!
