Today I’m happy to have another fellow Secret Cravings author, Victoria Black stop by with her brand new release, Heavenly Revenge! She’s included an excerpt…but be warned – it’s naughty đ Â

Hi Sarah! Thank you so much for having me. You are the very first person to let me talk about my newest novella, Heavenly Revenge, which was released by Secret Cravings Publishers only yesterday. As you can see from the wonderful cover designed by Dawne Dominique, my book a fantasy. Nothing too weird. Just a couple of angels and an alternate reality. And a planet that isn’t Earth. But the hero and heroine, and the fireworks they create, are entirely human! Here’s a tiny little appetizer…
*~*
Revenge can be cold and cruel.
When Rose dies before her time, two sweet, old angels send her on a mission to save another world. The angels worry she will be no match for the land’s strong king. However Rose has learned a bitter lesson courtesy of her unfaithful and very ex boyfriend. She is strong too.
But when the lovely Rose meets Andrejs, the handsome king of this strange land, she has a sweet battle on her hands. He believes she is an enemy spy who has learned a secret that may affect the outcome of the war raging between his kingdom and the land to the north.
It is against Andrejs’ code to hurt a woman.
But, as both he and Rose discover, revenge needn’t be cold or cruel. Revenge can be hot and very pleasurable indeed.
*~*
Isn’t that a sexy premise? I LOVE revenge stories. You do know I write erotic romance, don’t you? Not porn, as I cry in the wilderness to my embarrassed, grown-up children. And in my stories, the emphasis is on both words – erotic and romance. They are certainly sexy, but first, last and always, they are romances. Here’s another little morsel, a small tapas plate, to keep you wanting more…
“That was the most beautiful noise I’ve ever heard.”
The king stood in the doorway. He didn’t seem to be furious like he’d been before, but there was something quietly dangerous about him as he walked into the room and stopped in front of her. He moved with the grace of a panther stalking its prey. “Thank you,” she said. “It’s called music, by the way, not noise.”
Staring down at her with no expression in his eyes, he reached down to the hem of his tunic and drew it over his head. Which left him naked. She looked into his hard, brown eyes, set deep in his handsome face. Then her gaze traveled down the length of his bodyâfrom his broad shoulders and muscular chest with its curly, wiry black hair, down to his flat belly, with an arrow of black hair pointing down to his thick, hardening member. She hurriedly lowered her eyes to his long, powerful legs, lightly covered with that same dark hair. He was tanned and beautiful.
As Rose glanced back up into his eyes, she caught his gleam of amusement. His tense jaw relaxed with his chuckle. “Do I meet with your approval, my pretty little enemy?” He lay down next to her and reached out for the sheet that wrapped around her, slowly drawing it away.
As he circled her nipple with his fingertip, he said softly, “You are my prisoner, Rose. It will be my pleasure to punish you for being such an efficient spy.” He bent his head to her breast and swirled the blade of his tongue around her aureole, before gently flicking her now very erect nipple with the tip. “You will be mine to fuck any time and in any way I choose. Do you understand?”

Sounds fun? Of course, if I met the sexy, alpha male Andrejs, I’d run a mile. But luckily, my feisty little heroine, Rose, is more than a match for him.

Today I’m happy to begin welcoming authors more frequently to the blog! I’m thrilled to start this process with fellow SCP author, Carolyn Wren, to announce her book release! Check out the end of the post to learn how YOU can win a PDF copy of The Scientist.

The Protectors
The Scientist is Book 2 in the 7 part Romantic Suspense series, The Protectors.
The books tell the tales of a group of covert agents who form a Protection Agency. Each story is designed to be different, as reflects the personality of the lead characters. We have Jared Knight in Book 1. Quiet, calm, preferring to remain inconspicuous when possible. In Book 2 we have Simon Winters, completely the opposite. Outrageous, cheeky, flamboyant. The other books will all have a different tone, from light and fast paced, to dark and emotional. Hopefully they build into an interesting, entertaining series for my readers.
The Scientist.
A charismatic covert operative known for his love of dangerâŚ
Simon Winters has a reputation for undertaking adrenalin filled assignments. But even thrill seekers need some down time. After an arduous desert mission he asks for a more enjoyable assignment. Preferably involving a beautiful woman in peril and a fast car.
Dr. Elizabeth Barrettâs life is quiet and orderly until someone tries to burn down her research laboratory with her inside. Now she has to contend with a handsome flirtatious agent living in her home. With his designer clothing and cheeky attitude, he has an annoying habit of putting her in more perilous situations than he keeps her out of.
Simon is captivated and intrigued by his beautiful scientist with her red hair and hidden fiery temper. But the danger escalates and what begins as a straightforward mission turns deadly when it seems someone wants Beth and her research dead.
Excerpt.
âTime to get ready.â
Beth lifted her head and blinked. âAlready?â
âYes, itâs past five. You donât want to be late for the ceremony.â
âDo we really have to go?â
âYes, my little reluctant celebrity, we really have to go. Whatâs the award for again? Apart from mold?â
âA young achievers award for a scientific research paper on the positive properties of bacteria.â He leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead. âSee? Itâs special. Okay, itâs gross, but special. Go and get ready.â
Beth wandered into the bathroom. Why does his touch always linger so much on my skin?
After putting on her usual light application of makeup, she dubiously held up the turquoise dress in front of herself in the bedroom mirror. Halter neck, the front and back seemed very low. It fell in layers of soft silk and would come to just above her knees. Laying the designer garment on the bed, she picked out two pairs of shoes and surveyed them both. Which ones? Beth had no idea.
Hearing a sound from the hall, she opened the door. âSimon, what do you thinkâŚ?â The words dried up in her mouth. Broad shoulders and muscular arms filled her vision. The blond curls held droplets of water from his shower. The sprinkling of hair across his chest was also damp, and the towel draped over his hips did little to conceal the divine specimen of gorgeous almost-naked male standing in front of her.
âSitting?â
Beth yanked her brain back into focus. He was talking to her.âYou want me to sit?â
Simon waved the shoes in front of her face, having plucked them from her fingers without her even realizing. âI asked if we would be sitting. Isnât it a cocktail party? Or are we sitting for dinner?â
âCocktail party, I think, but why is that important?â
âThese,â he held up the high heeled strappy black sandals, âare sitting shoes. These,â he jiggled the mid-heeled silver-gray plainer ones, âare standing shoes. How much do you want your feet to ache?â
âNot at all, preferably.â
âGood choice. Wear the gray. The dress has silver highlights. It will blend.â With that, he handed the two items back to her and continued along the corridor. Beth tried not to notice how the towel sat low across his back, just above muscular buttocks. I need bigger towels.
A discreet cough made her gaze fly upward to meet his amused grin as he peeked over his shoulder. âAre you staring at my backside, Dr. Barrett?â
âNo, of course not.â Her denial was too loud, too husky. Feeling yet another stain of heat across her cheeks, she ducked back into her bedroom and wrenched the door closed.

Bio
I was born in England. My parents loved to travel as my dad spent many years in the navy. By the time I reached the age of 12 we had traveled pretty much around the world on cruise ships.
This sounds fun and exciting unless like me you can get sea sick sitting in a bathtub. Lets just say boats do not feature highly in my books.
I still love to travel, but I use planes. All of my life I have written stories in my head. I would rewrite and add characters to TV shows, edit and change novels I was reading, invent scenarios and scenes to amuse myself on long journeys. But strangely I never wrote any of them down. About three years ago I woke up with a scene so clear in my head I knew I had to put it down on paper. Now, what should I do with this one page of prose? I know, I will email it to some friends. The friends approved, in fact they asked what book it was from. I shyly admitted it was my own work and the reaction was immediate…please write the next bit! I did and I have not stopped writing since.

I have the great pleasure of hosting my good friend (and top-notch critique partner) Sabrina Garie for her blog tour for her novel, Fires of Justice. Â Take note – she’s giving away a copy of her book to one lucky commenter!!!
Thanks for hosting me Sarah. I am so glad to be here. You exemplify bravery and humor and practicality in the face of the unknowable and unexpected. In tribute to that, I thought Iâd talk about the power of stories and booksâhow they make us stronger and more adaptable.  I know many people use books to escape from life and I admit to doing that myself. But I also rely on them to help me be better at life and my goal as a writer is to fuse that into my work.
By touching our hearts and minds, stories give us a fun and risk-free ways to learn to handle the unexpectedâthose things that we can neither practice nor prepare for. Horror stories, roller coasters and zombies retain their popularity partially for that reason. Engaging with stories through film, books, however you like to do it, can help us learn to sit and act with fear in our bellies and panic-induced adrenalin weaving through our veins.
Paranormal and science fiction also take us into places where we cannot go, which is why I love to read and write them. What should we do if a werewolf knocks on the door or an alien lands in our backyard? As silly as these questions may sound at first, they strike a chord on some level of our psyche. At their base, they bring to light how we deal with the unknown, the untested, the other that we have yet to meet.
In my new release, Fires of Justice, I try and pull a few punches in this direction. Here are a couple of my favorites.
Calista, our heroine, is a witch, so sheâs used to some pretty strange things happening in any 24 hour period. Even so, the story starts with the simultaneous arrival of an ominous dream and a shifter setting up camp in her backyard and she, naturally, is weirded out by the whole thing. Turns out, the shifter is one of the characters in the dream. So what would you do if you crashed into a person who youâd only seen in a dream?  Isnât this just like asking if you believe in love at first sight in a slightly off-beat way? In college, I crushed on a guy because every time I looked at him, he felt familiar, like Iâd known him somehow. Whenever I saw him, the lyrics from the Eaglesâ Peaceful, Easy Feeling would float around in my head âI get this feeling I may know you as a lover and a friend.â It was strange and exciting and I had no idea how to handle it. That experience influenced the creation of this scene.
When Cullen first meets Calista, heâs predisposed to hate her because of some of the damage he carries around from his past. Surprise, sheâs nothing like he expected. Sometimes that werewolf or that alien is just the boy (or girl) next door you canât see for the fangs or your own scars. The power of stories is that they help us see past the fangs and the scarsâto look underneath the facades that often get in the way. Even if we have to hex it off to do it.
Thanks for visiting. Iâm giving away a free e-copy of Fires of Justice to one commenter. How do stories help you deal with the unknown in your life?Â

Today I’m beyond thrilled to have my friend (and critique partner) Jennifer James at the blog to throw a party in honor of her new book Long Time Coming. Please give her a warm welcome…and make sure you enter the giveaway – some hot prizes to win here. Side note – the excerpt is racy, so make sure you don’t have curious eyes nearby đ
Welcome to the LONG TIME COMING Release Day Party!
LONG TIME COMING is my new book from Etopia Press. Itâs written from the male point of view, and is full of fun, exhibitionist, naughty sex between two people whoâve had the hots for each other for years. And theyâre finally in a *cough* position to act on their desires.
Rob Williams grew up fantasizing about his older sisterâs best friend Joey Sanchez. His desire for her has never diminished. In fact, itâs grown to downright painful proportions. Now a young workaholic attorney married to his job, he finds being home and confronted with the one woman heâs always wanted and never gotten to have damned annoying. Itâs making him quite grumpy.
Joey Sanchez spent many hours hanging out at the Williamsâs place. A successful pharmaceutical rep, sheâs independent, vivacious, and has no qualms about going after what she wants. Sheâs watched Rob grow from a gawky teenager to high school and college soccer star with no shortage of girlfriends. Her ties to Robâs older sister Marcie always kept her from making a move. But Marcieâs getting married and Joeyâs still single. And sheâs tired of keeping her desires to herself.
BLURB:
His dreams have become reality,
Going home for his older sister’s wedding has been a real pain in the ass – and cock – for Rob. Unable to get a room at a local hotel, he’s stuck in the spare bedroom on a tiny twin size, fantasizing about Joey, the woman he’s had a crush on for over ten years. She’s still best friends with his sister and staying at his parent’s place too.
but instead of quenching his thirst,
Lucky for him, Joey knows what she wants. In the pool, a storage closet, the movie theater, with some very hot text messages, and finally in a hotel room. With the weekend coming to a close, Rob realizes he’d really like another no strings attached weekend of hot sex with Joey. Sheâs the woman of his dreams, with both feet firmly in reality.
he only wants more…
The weekend will end with his sisterâs wedding, and theyâll both be heading back to busy lives filled with work â and little else. With neither of them interested in a committed relationship beyond the ones they have with their careers, how can he persuade her to see him again? Thereâs nothing he wants more than another sheet scorching weekend with Joey.
Will she agree, or will he be stuck fantasizing about her for another ten years?
EXCERPT:
After one last press against his crotch, she dropped her foot. âSorry.â
âNo youâre not.â
Joey laughed, low and under her breath. âYouâre right. Just wondering if youâre still interested now that youâd gotten to have sex with me once.â
âDamn right Iâm still interested. If we were alone, Iâd pull your shorts and panties off, bury my face in your pussy, and eat you until you came. Iâd turn you around and fuck you on this table until you screamed from it. Come all over your breasts. Maybe all over your lips.â
Joeyâs pupils expanded while he talked, and her breath puffed in shorter and shorter gasps. The peaks of her nipples tented the tank top. Rob reached over and traced one with his fingertip, moved up to her mouth and slid the finger through the seam of her lips. He exhaled when she sucked on it and bit down. She liked being dominated, and he liked telling her the things he planned to do to her. Win-win.
Thatâs right. Sheâd be wrapped around his dick before the day ended.
The warm wetness of her mouth made him harder. Rob swallowed, trying to think of something else, anything else but the moist cavern suckling his finger.

HOW TO WIN!
Iâm giving away a copy of LONG TIME COMING and a set of Romance Trading Cards. (First prize gets the book, second prize gets the cards.)

ABOUT JENNIFER JAMES:
For a girl whose first book was called âThe Scariest Forest Ever,â the jump to romance may seem to be a far one. But a love of happy endings and the stories she kept making up in her head for strangers on the street lead to an unhealthy amount of time spent behind the keyboard typing away and giggling mischievously over sassy heroines,
sexy heroes, and healthy sprinklings of geek humor.
With time split between a day job staring at teeth, two little girls, college courses, workaholic husband, and too many voices in her head, Jennifer still finds time to sneak off and devour all the books she can find â even if it means hiding in the closet to read them.
She insists on her jokes being dirty, drinks spiked, and tattoos placed in intriguing, muscular places you can only find when the clothes come off.

All it took for me to review this book was the cover. Is that not just gorgeous?
Gorgeous cover aside, I didn’t know what to expect when I dove into this book. Â Obviously I read the blurb (see below) – but I hadn’t read any of Marie Treanor’s books before. Â This book is the start of a new series for her, but the new series is a spinoff of her Awakened by Blood Series.
While I hadn’t read that series I found it wasn’t necessary. Â Even though I didn’t know the existing characters (which make appearances), there was enough background information given that I never once felt lost.
I have to say that it has been a while since I devoured a book this fast. Â While I have been out of my ‘reading’ phase, this book made me forget that I took a few months off of reading. Â I read it so fast that I was incredibly sad it was over and already researching how much it would cost to buy the original series (side note: not a lot…I’ll be getting them very soon).
Mihaela is a damaged and lonely vampire hunter. Â She spent her whole life living for her job – but recent events have changed the rules she’s always known. Â While she’s trying to cope with the change in rules and the division of her loyalties and beliefs – she goes on vacation to Scotland.
Of course, what good vacation isn’t ruined (or is it made ages better?) by complications?  The complications come in the form of a powerful young boy, an old vampire with whom she has a vendetta against, and an even older and far more perplexing vampire named Maximilian.
Mihaela has to learn how to adjust to the new rules – and her own changing heart – as she races to save not just the little boy, but the whole world.
I instantly fell in love with the damaged Mihaela. Â I’m a sucker for damaged characters, and Mihaela fit the bill. Â I truly enjoyed the fact that while she was damaged, she was fiercely loyal – but also not opposed to learning the new rules and seeing how things would go. Â Granted, her willingness to do that added another layer of trouble to her life, but it also added more layers to her.
Maximilian took me a little to warm up to – but only because I could see easily see him through Mihaela’s eyes. Â Of course, he won me over fast and thankfully he at least made dents in Mihaela’s wall early on. Â I think the moment he truly won me over though was when, despite his intense needs and wants – when he was told ‘no’ he walked away. Â Pretty sure I cheered out loud at that point.
Together the two had the kind of fiery but fun relationship I adore. Â The love scenes were smoking hot and intense. Â The relationship had it’s flaws from the start and at the end things weren’t “perfect” – but the issues were on the table and everyone agreed to work to keep it that way.
[amazon_link id=”B0088Q23F8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Blood Guilt[/amazon_link]Â is definitely one of my favs for the year so far and I look forward to book 2. Â Until then I’ll be satisfying myself with [amazon_link id=”B005B1H9X4″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Blood on Silk[/amazon_link], [amazon_link id=”B0064XCOH4″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Blood Sin[/amazon_link], and [amazon_link id=”0451234723″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Blood Eternal[/amazon_link].

*Today Sasha Summers, author of [amazon_link id=”B007WSV5JI” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Medusa: A Love Story[/amazon_link]Â is visiting. Â Check out my review of her book here. Â
Thanks for having me on the blog today! I thought Iâd share one of my âtricks of the tradeâ â something that is ârequiredâ for me to write â successfully anyway. Honestly, I have a very hard time writing without mood and tone set firmly in place, sucking me in to my pages. Yes, I need a coffee and my laptop. But I also need music.
Medusa is a unique kind of story. So I needed unique songs â music that stirred all sorts of⌠sensations and feelings. I knew how I wanted to âfeelâ when I was writing it. So I collected a list of⌠emotional and moody tunes. But that fit â check out Medusaâs tagline:
Itâs said that love can change a person. Medusa wasnât always a monster.
Yes, the book is a love story, but not in the traditional sense. Why? Well, we all know what happened to Medusa, right? If you donât â Iâm not going to spill the beans. Iâll encourage you to read my book instead đ
Iâm going to give you a song. You listen to it and then come back. Iâll tell you which scene I wrote to each song. Ready?
Song 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3hsYkGQMeM&list=PLECD8D3D604769D10&index=5&feature=plpp_video
This song (from a movie I adore) helped nail the sense of desperation Medusa and Ariston were feeling as they parted. Heâs heading off to war against a terrible adversary. Neither will admit how terrified they feel.
Song 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN1MeSbYOiE&list=PLECD8D3D604769D10&index=3&feature=plpp_video
This one was when Ariston goes to Hades realm to beg for mercy, and again when Medusa is waiting to sabotage the Persians on the beach.
Song 3.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RST0Fzx5SPc&list=PLECD8D3D604769D10&index=27&feature=plpp_video
This is Ariston going to war.
Song 4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c1x55t51uc&list=PLECD8D3D604769D10&index=18&feature=plpp_video
And this is Medusa after Ariston has found her.
Song 5.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTKy0drMatc&list=PLECD8D3D604769D10&index=16&feature=plpp_video
And when theyâre reunited at the end.
I think you can hear the tone I was going for. As I put this playlist together, listening to them again, puts me right into that scene. Medusaâs story is still intense and vivid in my mind.
Thanks so much for letting me share the music of Medusa, A Love Storyâs with you.
