Welcome back to the Weekend Writing Warriors!

ChangingTracks_MEDI’m still keeping you all intrigued with the beginning of the series [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks (The Dominion Falls Series book 1)[/amazon_link].

Continuing just a few paragraphs away from last week when Cole all but admitted his jealousy…we come back to him and Jane.  Here Cole admits that he doesn’t know what he’s doing attempting anything close to a relationship:

“Jane.” The full length of him pressed into her back, his hands grasping her elbows in a firm but gentle hold. “I don’t know how.”

“How to what?” She remained still during his silence to give him time to come up with anything. Part of her hoped he’d admit the weakness, the rest of her feared he’d retaliate with a sarcastic answer. No answer came, which comforted her fear enough that she relaxed back against him. She set her hand on his, “I noticed.”

*Next week will follow this up, because the rest needs to be said and seen 😉

Thank you, Michelle. Cole has some moments of almost letting himself be revealed, but he struggles for some very good reasons. I still love the moments when he offers us a peak of who he is. 🙂

🙂 She noticed that he didn’t know how to do the relationship thing…there’ll be a bit more next week to wrap up this conversation 😉

Thanks, Millie. 😀 Cole has his moments. Not a whole lot of them, but when he does, they are awesome.

Enjoyed the snippet, not an ordinary conversation, didn’t go the way one might expect, which is a good thing. Makes me want to read more for sure!

Thanks, Veronica! That’s the hope. Jane and Cole are no ordinary couple – they are deeply flawed…to the point you might actually dislike them sometimes – but I like writing characters that are terribly human. Also, watching them grow over the books is the best reward. 😀

That’s a start. Now he just needs to share a little bit more, and they’ll understand each other better.

I completely agree, Caitlin. Unfortunately, Cole doesn’t share easily. Then again, what fun would the book be if the relationship was easy?

Loved this! Love the intimate details and how you show so much through simple gestures and the dialogue itself. Really well done, Sarah!
