Welcome back to the Weekend Writing Warriors!
I’m still keeping you all intrigued with the beginning of the series [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks (The Dominion Falls Series book 1)[/amazon_link].
This week Jane and Cole discuss the favorite filly in Cole’s stable (or rather, the favorite until Jane came along). Daisy Pearson, is known about town as the “doctorin’ whore.”:
“She refuses to talk about what happened before she became a whore, even though I’ve asked her a few times.” A smile tugged at her lips. “I admit I’m more than curious how you managed to get a doctor to agree to be a whore.”
“I got good negotiating skills.”
“Liar.”
Cole laughed and nodded. At least she wasn’t so tired that she couldn’t peg him with the truth. “She had nowhere else to turn.”

Short and sweet. WOW! You pack a wallop with words.
Thanks, Charmaine! I try. I love, love, love dialogue. 😀
I’m loving the banter. Well done.
Thanks, S.J. I love dialogue and the dialogue between Jane and Cole is always fun, interesting, and leaves me grinning (yes, even when they fight, which they do very well).
Interesting snippet. I’m intrigued to read more.
Thanks, A.S.! One thing is for certain – my side characters are as in-depth as my H/h 😀
Thoroughly intriguing, enjoyed the conversation and the hints about the new character they’re discussing – terrific snippet!
Thanks, Veronica!! My side characters are as much fun as my main characters. I like a well-rounded cast of characters.
I’m intrigued to know more. Interesting snippet.
Thank you, Karen! More is coming next week. 😀
This has an interesting hook here. I’m wondering how the conversation came up and definitely curious as to the Doctor whore character! Great job!
Thanks! My doctoring whore is a good character…I had a lot of fun with her. 😀 Then again, I had a lot of fun with all of my secondaries. 😉
yeah I’m curious about the “whore” too and humour is always good – well done
Thanks Sue! Cole is good for humor whenever he can find it 😉
A whore who was a doctor. Very interesting character!
Thanks, Cara! Like I’ve said, I’m a sucker for complex secondaries 😉
I am intrigued. Great dialogue.
Thank you Tina. Intrigued is always good.
LOL, he must have really good negotiating skills. A doctor who is also a whore. It’s cracking me up. 😀 Great work, Sarah!
😀 So glad I could make you laugh, Evelyn! Cole has some rather amazing negotiating skills…Jane certainly learns to thoroughly appreciate them 😉
That’s the reason for plenty of women, I imagine–it’s that, or starve, and they decide they want to live.
Sad…
The exchange is nice–short and sweet, with an undercurrent running beneath…
It’s very true, Caitlin. My doctoring whore does have a rather tragic story…but her story shows a bit of my hero’s underlying good-guy side he likes to hide so much. Some, but not all 😉
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it!
I, too, notice the sadness of the truth–for many, it’s the only way to stay alive.
Exactly, Sue Ann…for many their choices were very slim.
Wow, doctoring whore…and some serious negotiating skills. You have me curious.
LOL. Yup, a doctoring whore, a man with AMAZING negotiating skills…(just ask Jane). LOL. Don’t worry – there’ll be a giveaway soon 😉
This snippet certainly makes me curious about the dynamics between these characters. Well done.
Thanks, Chelle! I love good character dynamics across the board. They always make me super happy. 😀
I’m interested in all three characters—it’s an intriguing premise, too!
Thanks, Sarah! I’m very happy with my premise…I didn’t know if it would ever work, but I love it and it has gone over very well.
Great exchange between the characters!
Thanks, Gemma!
Cole certainly thinks highly of himself, doesn’t he? I actually like the idea of a doctoring whore, given my love of doctor-themed erotica!
LOL. Yes, Carrie-Anne, Cole thinks very highly of himself…and a good portion of the time he has good reason for that. 😀 The rest of the time…he’s a typical bull-headed male, but Jane’s there to knock him around a bit 😉
The doctoring whore made me very happy…I sort of smashed a couple of characters from my first draft together to make her. I’ve never regretted it one second. 😀
I love his negotiating skills. A doctor who’s a whore. I’d love to see how that happened. Great dialogue. I love dialogue like this. Great eight!
Thanks so much, Anne!! Glad you’re enjoying my dialogue!! 😀
I was just reading this in the bus last night. Poor Daisy, Cole can be terrible.
But in many cases, Linda…Cole is deceptively terrible. He guards his good side fiercer than a rottweiler. It takes a lot of Jane to make it show 😉 Plus, he learns. I admit, at times Cole and Jane are both unlikable…but that’s because I love flawed characters…they both learn and grow, though…promise 😉
Very intense snippet. Definitely want to know more about her and how things turned out the way they did. Great 8!
Wow! Color me intrigued!
