ChangingTracks_MEDI’m still keeping you all intrigued with the beginning of the series [amazon_link id=”B00BEMN5SC” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Changing Tracks (The Dominion Falls Series book 1)[/amazon_link].

This week Jane and Cole discuss the favorite filly in Cole’s stable (or rather, the favorite until Jane came along).  Daisy Pearson, is known about town as the “doctorin’ whore.”:

“She refuses to talk about what happened before she became a whore, even though I’ve asked her a few times.” A smile tugged at her lips. “I admit I’m more than curious how you managed to get a doctor to agree to be a whore.”

“I got good negotiating skills.”

“Liar.”

Cole laughed and nodded. At least she wasn’t so tired that she couldn’t peg him with the truth. “She had nowhere else to turn.”

Thanks, S.J. I love dialogue and the dialogue between Jane and Cole is always fun, interesting, and leaves me grinning (yes, even when they fight, which they do very well).

That’s the reason for plenty of women, I imagine–it’s that, or starve, and they decide they want to live.

    Sad…

The exchange is nice–short and sweet, with an undercurrent running beneath…

It’s very true, Caitlin. My doctoring whore does have a rather tragic story…but her story shows a bit of my hero’s underlying good-guy side he likes to hide so much. Some, but not all 😉

      Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it!

I, too, notice the sadness of the truth–for many, it’s the only way to stay alive.

Exactly, Sue Ann…for many their choices were very slim.

Cole certainly thinks highly of himself, doesn’t he? I actually like the idea of a doctoring whore, given my love of doctor-themed erotica!

    • Sarah

LOL. Yes, Carrie-Anne, Cole thinks very highly of himself…and a good portion of the time he has good reason for that. 😀 The rest of the time…he’s a typical bull-headed male, but Jane’s there to knock him around a bit 😉

The doctoring whore made me very happy…I sort of smashed a couple of characters from my first draft together to make her. I’ve never regretted it one second. 😀

I love his negotiating skills. A doctor who’s a whore. I’d love to see how that happened. Great dialogue. I love dialogue like this. Great eight!

I was just reading this in the bus last night. Poor Daisy, Cole can be terrible.

    Reply
    • Sarah

But in many cases, Linda…Cole is deceptively terrible. He guards his good side fiercer than a rottweiler. It takes a lot of Jane to make it show 😉 Plus, he learns. I admit, at times Cole and Jane are both unlikable…but that’s because I love flawed characters…they both learn and grow, though…promise 😉
